Excellent selection of books, particularly for children and young adults. Welcoming environment for all kinds of people, plus an educator discount and cool nonbook items all over the store. The employees are incredibly helpful and the store is organized to encourage finding great books. A wonderful addition to Gresham’s downtown!

I don’t live near this bookstore but when my favorite romantasy author signed books at this store. I knew I had to buy it! So it was a preorder and I had to wait but when it did come it was neatly packaged and some other goodies were also sent as freebies. My book was wrapped to protect its corners as it was a sprayed edged book so that was greatly appreciated. I received promo bookmarks and a small card that was compostable and is already sprouting pretty flowers in my garden. Thank you to whoever packaged this book with such care and the communicated with me that me preorder would come at a later date. I had actually purchased some blind dates with a book along with a signed Shield of Sparrows originally. Not disappointed in any of my blind dates all good reads that are recent releases and not just some years old leftovers like other bookstores. All in all, shop small, shop local if you can.

Maggie Mae's is my favorite bookstore hands down. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, there is an endless supply of books and gifts, and it feels like you belong there the moment you step inside. They are always willing to order random books I need and they make great recommendations. This is so much more than a store, it's a magical place that caters to people of all ages. I always walk out with a new pile of books and a smile on my face.

Downtown Gresham finally seems to have a bookstore that's here to stay, and I'm so glad it's this one. While mostly geared towards kids, the store also has a good adult selection (mostly on the newer side) as well as a fun and constantly changing selection of toys, notebooks, and games. Programming is also inclusive, with book clubs and events for various age groups. Maggie Mae's is prioritizing community-building across ages and social groups. It's a real asset to Gresham.

I preordered something in September of 2025 and it was shipped in November. I never received my package. I understand this isn't this bookstores fault but when I reached out for help, they basically said it was out of their hands. I went to file a claim with USPS to get my money back and the post office said that the package didn't have any insurance so I couldn't make a claim. I let the store know and they basically said "we hope it shows up". I'm incredibly frustrated and disappointed. I'm not sure if they are lying about having used insurance or what but they weren't willing to give me any kind of support. It would have been nice if they’d offered to reach out to the post office or anything else like that.
