Newtonville Books

I came into this bookstore knowing that I wanted a book, but I didn't know what kind. Even though I used to be an avid reader, I couldn't remember the last time I picked up a book. The handwritten summaries of recommended books helped me quickly narrow down which book I wanted - and I simply can't put it down! My love of reading has been rekindled.

A beautiful bookstore . With a wide selection of books . The most friendly staff . A metered parking 🅿️ lot across the street with plenty of parking 🅿️. They have seating outside with a dog bowl if your furry friend gets thirsty . They have a picture display of dogs . Dog people are my kind of people.

As someone who has often and long suffered from “getting into” reading or perhaps more-so “committed” to reading, Newtonville Books has been a true gift and personal renaissance for me. I’ve been coming here for 4 years now, initially enamoured with their stationary and misc. gifts. After 4 years of visiting the epiphany dawned on me that any book I truly ever finished and/or passed onto family and friends is one I picked up, tried, and fell in love with, here. The staff’s care in personalising the merchandising note cards helps me navigate effortlessly every-time to a story that stimulates and changes me. Simply put, every visit here is an uplift to my day and multiplies into many good days and at this moment 4 years, all born from a beloved local place that brings me peace, inspiration, and community. I am eager for the next visit and the enrichment ahead.

Great little bookstore! Friendly staff, nice selection, cozy atmosphere. Love the chairs they have in the middle if you want to sit down and read for a bit. They have a nice kids and young adults section too! Overall I enjoyed my visit.
