Octavia's Bookshelf

Me & my daughter took our first visit to Octavia’s Bookshelf & let me tell you, it won’t be our last! This store was so cute & had such a vibe. It was sweet of Nikki to take the time to walk us around & share what inspired her to bring this beautiful vision to light…it was so inspiring to hear! Not only is she beautiful, she has such amazing energy & you can tell she has a good spirit about her….you can genuinely tell she LOVES to read! Thank you Ms. Nikki, I can’t wait to read this book, I appreciate the suggestion!

As a lover of books and community, Octavia’s Bookshelf is a true gem. I was impatiently waiting for their doors to open and when they did, our community was met with love and a sense of belonging. My son absolutely loved story time, I loved perusing the beautiful works of incredible writers. We picked up some books for my son’s bedtime, and I picked up literature to read the voices of great activists, including one of my favorites: Roxanne Gay. This space provides inclusivity, safety, and joy in a society that has so little.

I’m sorry this bookstore is amazing! Cannot say enough great things about it! It is like the cool home of your favorite relative! You want to hang out, explore, and simply be there as much as you can! Cool seating area! Amazing book selection! Beautiful layout and decor. Welcoming space! Cool stickers and patches, etc. The team here was very kind, engaging, genuine, and well versed! A variety of books and def something for everyone! There is street parking and a small lot. We found a spot north of the restaurant into the neighborhood about 1.5 blocks up. Beware the curbs are very high; you will not be able to open your car doors on the passenger side. Cool spot, hope to be back soon! Highly recommend. Please support these amazing local bookstores; they are part of what make life great!!

Cute and cozy bookstore. Love the variety of amazing authors and titles. It also has a unique selection of fun finds from candles, socks, and pillows to stickers, bookmarks, and affirmation cards. Plus, it's Black owned. Protect this place at all costs!!!
