Had a great night last night, listening to author Julie Mulhern sharing, secrets about how she writes her books in particular her latest title Murder in Manhattan. This is such a great store, especially this time of year when we’re all looking for gifts. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Rainy day books continues to be the leader in Kansas City and for good reason. Great environment, Superior customer service and their events are second to none! I’ve been to several events, but this last one with dog man, and my grandson was a special memory maker. Their employees are attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. Love this jewel.

I love the history this bookstore holds, in the books they sell and within the walls. They just recently celebrated their 50th anniversary and I hope to see them for another fifty years. Very welcoming and lovely conversations with the booksellers. Photos are from their 2024 Kansas City Book Crawl.

Great local bookstore with very helpful staff. I ordered three books for a holiday exchange party. Their supplier didn’t deliver on time and Rainy Day staff assisted me in swapping for other books in store. Thanks to them I was able to shop local and still have books in time for my party. Great customer service. Charming store with a great selection!

Sign up for the newsletter to get all sorts of awesome author visit events! It's nice to have one local, small bookstore to browse. They don't have a bathroom-even for paying customers, which stops me from going to as maybe events as I'd like since events are at night and generally preceeded by dinner and drinks. There is a coffee shop two doors down, but then I feel like I have to buy coffee. An in store restroom would encourage me to browse more, spend more, and visit more often. That said, in store events are intimate and enjoyable.
