Righton Books is the newest addition to the lively St Simons retail scene. Featuring a world-class selection of illustrated books in categories such as art, architecture, design, photography, interior design, automobiles, and more, Righton Books also offers all the latest fiction and nonfiction titles and the largest selection of cookbooks in the southeast. So whether you are looking for the perfect gift, a great recipe for dinner, or the latest Grisham novel, Righton Books in Redfern Village is the place for you. The store is the culmination of a nearly fifty-year career in retail for Darryl Peck. He has always envisioned creating an independent bookstore like the ones he loved in his native Upper West Side of Manhattan. Darryl is now living the bookshop-keeper dream and working alongside his wife of thirty years. Righton Books bears the name of Anne Pecks father, a voracious reader who also loved to ride the Emmeline and Hessie ferry boats to St. Simons as a child. Annes mother, Jean Lyndon, worked as a childrens librarian and genealogist in Macon, so its no surprise that Annes parents called her Nose in a Book.

Book stores are the last bastion of knowledge! Support local. Great little selection along with breezy summer reading.

I try to visit the local bookstores wherever we travel to stock up on old favorites and books by local authors. Stopped in this shop a couple of years ago and on this trip they had new mysteries by a local author. If you are a bookshop fan you need to make a stop here while on St. Simons.

Stopped by this bookstore while here on vacation. It was a lovely store with great selection and very friendly staff. I also just finished the book I purchased here (Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone) and promised the ladies behind the counter that I'd report back on what I thought of it ... I adored it, 5 stars! Definitely would come back to this bookstore if/when I make it back to St Simons Island.

Delicious coffee and a fantastic selection of books; lovely, welcoming staff were so helpful and made me feel right at home! I’ll easily be reaching my book-reading goal this year, with how often I plan to return to this gorgeous little shop.

Adorable little shop that smells as wonderful as it looks. Like coffee beans and the fresh pages of new books. DIVINE! The ambiance is charming, with nooks and crannies to settle into and discover your next favorite author, and the staff is helpful and cheerful. Loved the adjoining coffee shop, as well. Delicious! 🥰
