Sassafras on Sutton

This is my happy place! This is what a bookshop should be like. The coffee bar makes a great cup of coffee (and the chai is extra-nice, too), and there is a warm, homey vibe with friendly, helpful staff. My children LOVE the upstairs children's book section with a fantastic collection of high-quality toys, puzzles, and games. Sassafras is delightful, and if you are in Black Mountain, you've got to visit!

Sassafras is our favorite bookstore ever. Dog friendly, kid friendly, everyone welcome friendly. The cutest coffee shop on the lower level. Everyone who works here is so friendly we are locals to black mountain but if your in town for fun stop by. This is also our pup Carl's favorite stop on our daily walks downtown.

Sassafras is an amazing shop! My toddler boys love roaming the toy section upstairs and playing with cars. They have an incredible selection of toys, books, and crafts for kiddos of all ages. It’s the perfect spot to grab a gift for everyone on your list!

This local book and game store has a surprisingly great selection. I love visiting local bookstores and this one is a nice one. They have a coffee and drinks shop inside as well as many comfy arm chairs to sit and read in. I bought a few new books here and definitely plan on visiting again in the future. Local bookstores like this are the best!
