Connect with fellow book lovers, stay updated on bookshop events, and discover new independent bookshops.
The Bookhive is a pop-up bookstore selling used and new books. Our goal is to build a community of readers, connect readers to books they love, create fun reading experiences, and make book buying accessible. Why the Bookhive? Bees are amazing creatures and vital to our world. Same goes for books. Honeybees in a hive are a collective. They think not only of themselves, but the whole hive. They are connected. When we read, we connect with each other. We learn other people's perspectives and stories. We travel far and wide. Yes, even in romance novels :). Connecting with others and talking about books builds a community, a hive.

My husband and I are from Georgia and stopped by here because a friend recommended it to us! It was such a lovely store! They had a great selection that way well organized - everything from romantasy, to philosophy, to even fiction books in other languages. We only got to spend 30 minutes there but could definitely spend hours if we had more time! And of course they had the cutest cats ensuring everyone got a dopamine boost while pursuing books. I would highly recommend for all book lovers!

My home away from home! Lee, Virginia and Richard are absolutely wonderful. By far, my favorite family-run and owned bookstore that also offers a vegan shop, The Greener Apple. If you find yourself in Charlotte, you should definitely check out Book Buyers!

I often walked past this bookstore without going in, but one day I decided to take a look and it turned out to be a real hidden gem! The shop has three adorable cats wandering around, and there’s even a children’s corner at the back where kids can read books and draw. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.

This place had the most amazing atmosphere and the worker that welcomed us was so kind. The lady with the glasses and curls almost didn't even let me pay for the one item I was checking out, which was a sticker. She immediately grabbed a couple of quarters from their bowl to cover the price for me. Of course their presence in the Charlotte community goes beyond this kind gesture. They had great books of all genres, periods, and cultures, and 3 of the cutest cats I had ever seen. Junior (the ginger cat) was the friendliest. I would definitely come here again and would recommend if you're looking to broaden your library or even just for a nice day out!
