Trope Bookshop

An all romance bookstore! I have never seen such a thing. This bookshop started in a school bus and recently opened their brick & mortar. This small bookshop is beautifully decorated. I loved everything about it! The owner Kate has done something special here. I can’t wait to share with my neighbors in Davidson. I think a Girls days out in Charlotte must include a stop at Trope! A super cute all romance book store. Very well-organized. Helpful staff. A great place to shop for yourself or get gifts for book lovers. Especially loved their banned books section.

This had to be my favorite bookstore! I can never leave without a book in hand. The employees are sweet and have the best recommendations. If you’re looking for your next romance/romantasy/dark romance obsession, just come here!

We drove all the way from Seymour, TN to Charlotte, NC just to visit Trope Bookshop after seeing it pop up on TikTok—and OMG it was so worth the trip! We decided to turn it into a little adventure, and this cozy bookstore totally delivered. Trope is tucked into the heart of Plaza Midwood and is absolutely adorable—dark green walls, cute lighting, and shelves packed with all the best smutty reads. It’s like stepping into the coziest corner of BookTok heaven. The vibe is chill, welcoming, and full of bookish magic. I ended up buying soooo many books (zero regrets from me but maybe a few from my husband), and they also have the cutest swag—stickers, totes, bookmarks, you name it. The staff were super friendly and clearly just as obsessed with romance novels as the rest of us, which made the whole experience even better. Trope is a must-visit if you’re into romance books and happen to be anywhere near Charlotte. Honestly, even if you’re not near—make the road trip. Your TBR will thank you. 5 stars, 100% obsessed. Will definitely be back!
