Outstanding Customer Service – Went Above and Beyond! I recently ordered a signed copy of a book from this bookstore, but unfortunately the one that arrived wasn’t signed. I emailed them about it, and Kate responded almost immediately with genuine concern and a clear plan to make it right. Not only did she quickly arrange to send me a properly signed copy, but she didn’t even ask me to return the unsigned one (which was incredibly generous). When the new book arrived, I was absolutely blown away – not only was it signed by the author, but the author had included a lovely personal message! This level of care and effort is rare these days. Kate and the team turned what could have been a disappointing experience into one that left me genuinely thrilled and impressed. Their customer service is truly exceptional, and I can’t recommend this bookstore highly enough. Very nice local bookstore only a few minutes from the beach. Was pretty packed on Christmas Eve and had a lot to pick from!

Thunder Road Books is a true standout in Spring Lake. The selection of authors is amazing, with thoughtful representation of diverse voices that makes browsing especially meaningful and enjoyable. Every shelf feels carefully curated. The space itself is beautiful, warm, and inviting, and the service is just as wonderful. Knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about books. A must visit for any book lover.

Thunder Road is a fantastic bookstore. Kate, the manager and all the staff are great. The new store is bigger with lots of beautiful displays and windows. They offer recommendations from what’s in stock if you aren’t sure what to buy, or are able to order things they don’t have. Highly recommend!
