Townie Books is located adjacent to Rumors Coffee and Tea House in downtown Crested Butte. We opened in June of 2011. We offer the newest titles in fiction and non-fiction as well as an extensive selection of children's books and books with Colorado specific themes. Journals, games, puzzles, maps and other supplemental gifts are also a specialty of Townie Books. The cafe adds a cozy inviting atmosphere to enjoy browsing the books, sipping some tea or surfing the web. We also host special events like book signings, readings, poetry night and live music.

What an adorable little spot for books. I imagine it's not always the easiest to have such a liberal business in a mountain town but this bookstore is everything you'd expect it to be. Welcoming, friendly, helpful, and well-informed.

Lovely shop. Took shelter from the rain in the store a couple of weeks ago as I was visiting Crested Butte from London. Thanks for recommending Go as a River, just finished it and loved the story and learning more about the surrounding area!

Great book store and coffee shop! They have lots of events and fun activities for all ages. Love finding gifts for friends or a good read for myself here.

Really cool bookstore with a great curation of books. They really do a great job. The woman working while we were there was super friendly and gave great recommendations.

Coffee was really great. Bookstore staff woman was supremely unfriendly and unwelcoming over Christmas week. I was going to buy a book like I like to do in local bookshops when I travel, but decided I’m better off spending my money elsewhere.
