“I’ve decided after spending almost 2 hours and renting a U-Haul to remove the additional land waste that they left after me asking two different times for them to come pick, per the contract, that this is now warranting a one star review. “ First things first, the price was good and the turf installation itself looks good as well. However, we had significant issues with the edging they installed and they would not haul away the dirt that they dug out as part of the preparations for the installation. First, he bender board was not secured properly. They used a combination of metal stakes, chopped up wood, and plastic stakes that they took from my edging. Furthermore, about 1/3 of the edging is not secured at all. It really upset me when I found out that they used my material, because a) I paid for the material to be used and b) I will have to pull it out so I can secure my edging again. This means I will also have to go and buy something to secure the bender board. Second, because the bender board is not secured properly it peels off from the turf (it expands with heat so it will be very bad in summer). I had them come out twice to fix it and the issue is still there. Third, they scraped some of the top layer of dirt and mulch to install the turf and just piled it in the corner. I had them come out twice to to haul it away and they did not. They simply offered to spread it around my property (this I refused). This means I have to load it up into lawn bags and dispose of it myself. Lastly, when they left my patio was a mess. They blew the infill all over my patio and furniture with a leaf blower. I would not recommend this company.

This is an updated review from my previous one- the owner, David Swartz, has threatened legal action (see below) and requested that I remove my previous review. However, it is imperative that potential customers at least hear my experience; after all, that is the purpose of Yelp, to help customers find the right fit. I have had a horrible experience with this company. Let me start from the beginning so I do not seem overly hyperbolic. I met with Gary, who came over and provided a quote. He was great and unfortunately, the only good part of my experience. The price itself was reasonable, in the middle of the quote I had received. OK so I signed the contract and was told the "project manager" reach out to schedule. I did not hear from this person for weeks and the project was set to start on Monday, July 7, 2025. I was told the team was coming from Corona, which should have been a red flag that they did not hire anyone local (corona is about 1.5 hours away). July 7 comes around and the delivery person decides to leave all the material, including the turf, on the street. I called the project manager who tells me the team was at another location and would not be able to start until Tuesday, July 8, which was fine. On Tuesday, July 8, around noon, while away from the house, I realized no one showed up! So I called the project manager who tells me the team had a "flat" and would show up at 12:30 PM. No one shows up until about 2:30 PM, and they work for about one hour before leaving. A crew of two people show up. Funny because the contracts of the project would be "3-5 days" but yet only two people showed up.I should have had even red or flags by this time, honestly. The contract misrepresented the amount of time it would take to finish the job and this was one of the reasons I picked this company. On Wednesday, July 9, they work for a few more hours digging up the front yard and then leave. On July 11, they come back to leave after a few hours. By this time, I am upset and I called Gary, instead of the project manager, because the project manager always seemed too busy to talk and wanted to get me off the phone. Come to find out that, even though Gary initially said that the bubblers would be included, they did not put it in the contract and therefore they would charge more for it. I decided not to do that but rather have my own contractor do the watering work instead. I'm glad I did by the way because the PVC piping that the crew installed was not even dug deep enough (see photos) but it gets even better. They come back on Sunday, July 13; instead of removing the customary 3-4 inches of dirt per the contract, the two main crew decides to place the weed barrier in the front, without cleaning up all the roots underneath or the uneven footing. They also decide to place the go for mesh on the side even though I told him my contractor would come the next day to put the PVC pipes for the watering. On Monday, July 14, my contractor came out and saw the work, or else he could've gotten even worse. He noticed all the unequal footing, which is dangerous, the lack of proper level grading and leaving roots/holes in uneven areas. The pop-up risers were not dug out properly, and the crew, when I called them, said this was normal operating procedure that they would be putting the road base on top even though they had not dug out the requisite 3 to 4 inches. My contractor said this did not sound right, in indeed, there were too many dips in the weed barrier and it felt unsafe. I told David I wanted to cancel but he declined. His company took the first progress payment despite not delivering all the materials per the contract. During my subsequent emails with David, he continued making excuses and was trying to spin the verbiage of the contract, all the while stating he would not refund my money despite them taking the money without provision of the materials, per their own contract. David has not attempted to resolve the situation but is rather attempting to intimidate by threatening legal action.

They worked really quickly, professionally, and did a great job. The cleanup afterward was also done very neatly, so I’m grateful. Customer service is wonderful especially Anda and Melissa!

Turf Bros did an awesome job on our installation. The crew was efficient and the foreman was happy to answer any questions during the process. The only reason I did not give them a 5 is because we experienced some communication ‘challenges’ with regard to when the job would be started.
