There are several gems in this tiny, wonderful town. This bookstore is one of my favorites. My 4 yr old granddaughter loves these books! If you ever drive through Wardensville definitely make this one of your stops! Place your order at Drifters Cafe’, (always YUM) go through the walkway to find your new favorite book.

Stopped in while passing through Wardensville and am so happy I did! This bookstore offers so many unique finds ! A fabulous selection of books and friendly staff will definitely have me coming back. If you are looking for a cozy bookstore, packed with tons of goodies, anddddd attached to a cafe, you have found the perfect spot!!! Cannot wait to come back next time I am in town. Side entrance from the porch with parking in the back, super easy to get to and plenty of signage.

Lovely bookstore with lots to explore. They also have games and a whole kids section. Their customer service is fantastic, well worth the stop if you love books. Stop at the Cafe behind the bookstore before or after you stop!

WordPlay has a thoughtfully curated selection of books, including a section highlighting local authors. The staff are friendly and notes with commentary about staff favorites make browsing or searching for the perfect book a fun adventure. There is a wide offering of children and young adult books. We left with an Appalachian cookbook for my father in law, a signed graphic novel on rural resistance for my sister, and a Japanese magical realism novel for us. They also have a collection of games and puzzles.
