Very cute shop with a wonderful selection of books, and I really want to support local bookstores. Unfortunately, my checkout experience today was a bit disappointing. The cashier seemed distracted and it took a moment to be acknowledged. I asked for a gift receipt, which was printed without comment, but it stated that there are no returns or exchanges. When I asked about this, I was told simply that the store doesn’t do returns or exchanges. If a customer asks for a gift receipt, it seems reasonable to give a brief heads-up about that policy at the time. I completely understand the reasoning behind a no-returns policy—bookstore margins are slim, and it’s easy to see how returns could be abused—but the lack of explanation made the interaction feel less thoughtful than expected. I likely still would have bought the book, but would have approached it differently and done some detective work beforehand to make sure the intended recipient hadn’t already read it. Overall, the interaction felt impersonal, and there was no thank-you at the end. I hope this feedback is helpful, as the shop itself is lovely and I’d like future visits to reflect that.

What an incredible spot for book lovers. Alpenglow is so cozy and has a beautiful set up. There are an incredible amount of options from what's currently popular to timeless classics. Their kids section is incredibly diverse and well thought through. If you get a chance to attend an event they host, you must. I attended their midnight release party for Onyx Storm and it was phenomenal. The shop was decorated to celebrate and they even had a cute mocktail inspired by the book and cupcakes. What really struck me was how well everything was planned to make the event lively, interesting and engaging. Creating events like this is such an investment in the community and I'm really thankful for all the efforts put in to bring so many who love this series together. You should definitely check this place out. This is a bookshop that fosters a wholesome and uplifting atmosphere. ** Edited to add: I forget to mention that the party hosts brought crafts for everyone to work on, created a scavenger hunt with prizes and also made sure everyone who pre-ordered the new book for a free copy in audiobook format. 💕

Awesome selection of books and friendly staff! If they don’t have what you’re looking for they’re always happy to order it for you. Great place to buy gifts and cards as well!

Cute little bookstore in downtown Glenwood Springs. The store attendant was very kind and I enjoyed the selection of gifts and books. We bought a couple books as well as a puzzle. I gave four stars instead of five because there was a very odd smell in the store that did cause our group to want to leave quickly.
