Big Red Books

They carry really interesting books—honestly, the kind I would buy anytime. The atmosphere is super cozy, and they actually have a seating area along with different interactive spaces that make the whole customer experience feel engaging. There’s also a small kids’ play area in the back, which I think is a great and thoughtful idea. Overall, the staff is friendly, and the store is in a great part of Nyack. There were several books I had seen online and thought of ordering, but now that I know they have them here, I can just stop by any day, buy what I want, and head home without waiting for anything. For me, that’s a huge plus.

Big Red Books is the best! Richie has created a warm atmosphere for people to gather, readers, authors, book groups and panels, kids and adults. The store offers a beautifully curated selection of books and the calendar is always full of exciting events. I'm particularly thankful to Richie for all that he has done to support me as an author, hosting my book launch and inviting me to store events for meet and greets. It's clear that he champions local authors and seeks to bring the community together. Big Red Books has become a real Nyack staple! A magical place! Thank you, Big Red Books!

Nyack was in desperate need of a cozy bookstore where you can get lost in books and hang out on the big red couch. And Big Red Books fulfills every book lover's cup. Richie is so kind and friendly, he always has a smile on his face and willing to help find books. His staff are also super friendly and helpful. I love that they aren't just a bookstore but they are so supportive local authors and of the arts in general and host lots of events for artists and writers. It's a bookstore created on love and connection with the community of Nyack. Whether you're a local or an out of towner, I highly recommend stopping by the store, it's beautiful and filled with plenty of the classics and new & upcoming books.

Whether you are a reader or an author (or both!), you will love this store. Good selection of books in a cozy, browser-friendly environment. They host many events like author appearances, book clubs, poetry readings, etc. Always something going on! They also recently opened a backyard patio. Big Red Books has been a great addition to the Nyack community.
