Poor Richards Bookstore specializes in good-condition used books in a variety of genres. We carry current books in 165 categories and classics in every field. We also pay cash for good quality used books from 9am - 3pm daily*, and offer a higher percentage for in-store trade credit. The Bookstore now features a section of new books in popular categories like Childrens, Politics, History, Cooking, Gardening, Spiritual, Personal Growth, Best Sellers and more. We stock Colorado trail and city guides, wildlife and flora books, and Colorado maps. Poor Richards also has a large selection of rare, first edition, and collectible books. The Poor Richards businesses are located in downtown Colorado Springs, featuring FIVE unique businesses under one roof (the only of its kind in the country). Our Restaurant, Caf, Toystore and Books & Gifts have been locally voted Best of in multiple categories like Salads, Soups, Pizza, Caf, Wine Bar, Toystore, Cards, Restaurant for Kids, Restaurant for People Watching, Place for a Thoughtful, Inexpensive Gift and Local Bookstore. Our two restaurants serve wholesome, tasty, high quality food and hearty portions at reasonable prices. Our retail selection features interactive and fun toys for kids and smart and urban gifts, books and cards for grownups all at reasonable prices. In fact, a majority of what we sell in the complex is under $10. Throughout the complex, we provide a warm make-your-self-at-home atmosphere for all ages. Our businesses function on their own and as a family. You can dine in the bookstore, let your children play in the "Magic Garden" located in the rear of the restaurant, or thumb through a book anywhere you would like. Each business has its own separate entrance on Tejon Street (between Platte and Boulder), but they are all interconnected inside as well. There is extensive front sidewalk seating and a large private back patio area, where we grow many of our own herbs and greens. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the complex. Poor Richards accepts all major credit cards, cash, the Colorado College Gold Card, and the Downtown Gift Card. No checks, please. Gift cards are available for redemption and purchase in the Caf and the Restaurant and are valid for anything in the Bookstore, Ricos, Little Richards, or the Restaurant!

My friend and I accidentally stumbled in to Wednesday trivia night and had the best time! Avy was an amazing host, much better than a lot of the "professional" hosts I've had from other pubs and breweries. Give that girl a raise! We will definitely be back

Love this place. The bookstore is surprisingly big, with a great range of titles, and a relaxed, inviting vibe to browse. There’s a gift store too with cool local items - something for everyone. The cafe is great - delicious food, and I always have been able to get a seat in the back patio - it’s lovely and green and has several shaded tables. It’s all very relaxing and peaceful. Highly recommended.

I am bummed they no longer carry metaphysical books. Must not be popular anymore. The store is much cleaner and more organized. The best downtown bookstore for downtown. Its a bummer its been so commercialized. A lot of people just walk around and talk. Not the best environment for a quiet book store.

Great bookstore downtown! I found what I was looking for. Extensive inventory and gifts. My only gripe is that I had to pay for parking. 😁 Helpful and friendly staff.

A Colorado Springs classic. Come for kind people, fun finds and of course great books. There’s a good selection of books and the prices on used books is affordable with a good mix of new and used.
