The Queen Anne Book Company is an independent, full service bookstore located in Seattle, Washington at the top of Queen Anne hill. Our mission is to serve as both the literary source and the community meeting place for the Queen Anne community. Our goal as an independent bookstore is to be a foundational, contributing, and viable part of this neighborhood. We feel it is an honor to be part of the regional book-selling profession, which further serves local and global literacy.

Cute neighborhood bookstore with a small-town vibe, conveniently located next to a café. I personally couldn’t find much I was looking for, as the selection is on the smaller side, but that was expected given the size. Still a charming spot for a casual browse.

Superlative Independent, local book shop. It is so inviting here... Well lit and equally well curated. The recommendations are unique and thoughtful and run through each section, so that whatever your taste, there's something to try. The children's section is large - well balanced between picture books and readers. There's an excellent variety of interesting graphic novels. The summer offering of Reader's Bingo is a good example of the store's ingeniousness, offering fresh and inviting ways to expand one's reading diet, encouraging many genres and formats. The employees extend this aesthetic with engaging conversation and kind assistance. One senses their love of reading and interests and I left inspired to read more. A lovely visit.

I came in to return a book and was surprised by the attitude I received. Their posted return policy states that refunds are provided “in the same tender,” but when I asked for a cash refund (since I had paid in cash), I was told they only refund to credit cards and could only offer store credit. When I pointed directly to the policy on their own website, I was met with more passive-aggressive responses, including, “I’ll have to change that.” To their credit, they did ultimately honor the refund, but the whole interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive. I’ve always liked supporting local shops, but this experience left me disappointed.

Staff are always friendly and can help answer questions or give suggestions! Such a variety of books and other items. Even a lot of local authors. Great kids section too!
