How lucky are we to have this charming independent bookstore right here in the heart of Lawrence, KS! A trip to The Raven is always a special treat and you’re sure to find a great read, either from the staff-recommended selections that are marked throughout the store or by speaking with a friendly employee. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they can always order it. It’s impossible to leave without buying something. Love supporting local, independent bookstores!

Utterly adorable book shop! I have rarely met a book store I didn't like but this one was over the top fantastic! The employees were helpful and kind! Great shop! Tons of variety!

A young BIPOC woman was violently murdered by Rontarus Washington in Lawrence, Kansas and instead of supporting her memory or (immigrant) family this bookstore bailed Rontarus out of jail. This place is vocally anti law enforcement and doesn’t support women and children who are the victims of violent crimes, only the men who perpetrate them. There’s a real possibility of being stabbed or shot in downtown Lawrence and I don’t feel safe entering businesses that exclude law enforcement. Sickening.

⚠️‼️🐈 CUTE SHOP CAT ALERT🐱‼️⚠️ Stopped in while visiting Lawrence even though I've got a 'to read' list a mile long. It's a really neat and cozy place with a great selection of books- particularly queer/LGBT+ oriented ones. It's was nice to see not only historical queer discourse and literature but plenty of fiction featuring not just queer characters but characters of other traditionally minority groups in lit and real life. I like that there was also a kids section in the back too with plenty to choose from. The workers were all friendly, especially the sweet shop kitty sunning in the window! Id love to visit again next time I'm in Lawrence and grab a few more books to add to my pile!
