Just left this adorable little store. The employees (maybe owners?) were absolutely wonderful. They were so helpful and nice-- very pleasant to talk to. The decor is extremely cozy and welcoming. They had a variety of romance novels and even some non-romance toward the front. They also cater to e-readers though specifically kindle. I'm a kobo girlie but I appreciate the options for any e-reader. Lots of cute bookmarks and other merch for the book girlie. Love that they had queer romance books, too, which I specifically will come back for. Smitten is a cozy place for the romance reader. I WILL be back and soon.

A very cute and fun romance bookstore! I had no idea this was nestled in this shopping area. I stopped in because they were participating in the KC Bookstore Crawl and I'm so glad I did! I found several books I will now be adding to my extensive TBR list, but did grab one to read on my upcoming trip. They have a lot of author signings, bookmark crafting events, and other fun stuff on their calendar. They had a great selection of books, nearly organized by genre/category for the most part. I found several of my favorite books I already own and read. They had fun gift items, too! Highly recommend, and I will definitely be back.

I genuinely don’t think I could ever go to another bookstore. After meeting the owners and their daughter, it became clear just how special this place is. They are some of the most welcoming, kind, and completely judgment-free people I’ve ever encountered, and that energy fills the entire store. While their prices are pretty standard, everything else more than makes up for it—the thoughtfully curated selection, the cozy and inviting atmosphere, and a staff that makes you feel seen and appreciated the moment you walk in. Every visit feels personal, comforting, and exciting all at once, and I always leave with books I didn’t even know I needed. This store isn’t just a place to buy books; it’s a place I truly love and will always choose to support.

Love this sweet little bookstore! The family who runs it are lovely and super helpful. I've done two of their Saturday crafts and really enjoyed both. This store is definitely worth a stop for all romance book lovers.
