Unfortunately, during my visit, a group of three people were very loud and talkative with the person who was working. I don't expect bookshops to be silent, but I also enjoy a quiet, calm shopping experience-this wasn't that at all. Shop is cute with a lot of great options. Just unfortunate that because of the employee and the other guests, I couldn't even concentrate on a title long enough to pick one for purchase.

Portsmouth Book Nook has a great selection of books for both adult and children. They pack a lot into their little space. If they don’t have a book you are interested in they are so helpful in tracking it down and ordering it. They helped me get a Rachel Gillig book I was looking for and it arrived in just a few days! Their staff is helpful, kind and great at making recommendations. I highly recommend checking them out!!

A kind man working at the book shop helped me find exactly the book I was looking for right away and gave me local recommendations on nice spots to read it. A sweet little place downtown Portsmouth!

We just discovered Portsmouth Book Nook -- wow! This place performs that alchemy that only fantastic small-space bookstores seem to do -- how they offer so many great books in one place is a mystery, but they do. In our first visit we were wowed by the Memoir section in particular, and the children's section is absolutely terrific. There's nothing quite like a knowledgeable, friendly bookseller who offers up serious Lit, great kid choices, and fun, escapist novels all within reach. Long may you read and sell, Book Nook!
