Treehouse Toys (NH)

A fixture of downtown Portsmouth. I can't remember if it's the same name over the decades, but, I've always found it to be a pleasant little store with an old time charm. My first visit as a kid, I remember walking to school, uphill, both ways, err, sorry wrong memory. I remember a tiny tightrope with a small bicycle 🚲 moving back and forth on it. Now, stuffed animals, novelty, educational and development toys. Playmobil, Sesame Street and a few other name brands. Staff was friendly. I found gifts for my son and my daughter, who at first didn't want to go in. She found a book 📖 she wanted. She's picky! Facemasks required and only six customers at a time. Store is small and a little crampt, but, space is at a premium in a city 🏙️ that has regulations that try to maintain its historical look. I recommend a visit!

In an age when so much shopping happens online, it's great to take your kid to a store where they can really engage and try out the toys. I've been going to Treehouse for years and never tire of the carefully selected merchandise set out with such care. The staff are helpful and kind, too. So fun!

Decent little toy store….. a little pricey but they have a decent selection of toys.
