This store was a highlight of our trip to Bar Harbor for me. The outside window displays drew me in - not that I needed much convincing. There haven't been too many times that I have walked by an independent bookstore. Inside was this incredibly large space (2 separate rooms!) Packed with not only books, but board games, stationary, puzzles, and a whole assortment of things anyone on vacation would be happy to find. My husband and I have just started putting together Book Nooks and we were thrilled to find one there to purchase. Items of interest for all ages; I think kids would love exploring here and they could probably spend an hour easily discovering everything. Highly recommend making this a part of your vacation.

This has to be one of the cutest, oldest, lovely little book shops I have ever been in. They have a wealth of variety from coloring books, office supplies, Needoh's, cookbooks, self help, and so much more. Their prices are extremely affordable and every time I am in Bar Harbor, I stop in just to see what they got! Bring your kids and family and go find something fun to do together or read on the next snowy day!

Spent 6 months in Bar Harbor working for the season and fell in love with Sherman’s and all the whimsy this place has to offer. Bought many gifts using my hard earned money here. The selection is vast. I was visiting my boyfriend this past week, who lives here year round, and thought I would love to come in and put a little money back into the economy here while things are slow. The woman behind the counter was incredibly passive aggressive and asked if “I’m here on vacation” because she said no one in town would be able to take a $100 bill, after I just paid. Had she asked me to pay with card, I would have been more than happy to. No one else in town complained about my form of payment. Seemed rude, ungrateful and is the sole reason I won’t come spend my money here again this summer. Someone could teach her a thing or two about direct and kind communication.

This is my favorite book/gift shop in Maine! They have a mix of everything! They have really good selections for art supplies and Lego! You can also find a lot of local Maine author books and Acadia history books and coffee table books here as well!
