The Briar Patch

For over 35 years, The Briar Patch has inspired and delighted generations of readers of all ages in Bangor, Maine. Originally specializing in children's books and creative playthings from birth through high school, the shop has expanded in the last few years to carry adult books, including fiction, cookbooks, titles on parenting, resources for teachers, and more. Games, crafts, puzzles, and other gift and toy items fill the store with something for everyone. Author readings and book signings, storytimes and other events are held throughout the year, with a robust Maine/local author focus, strengthening community ties to ensure the next 35 years will be even better than the first.
