This is a charming bookshop, but even better they have an excellent selection of books. There were several notable books signed by authors, so you can tell it's sorted in the book community. They had classic, essential cookbooks (I always check) as well as relevant local children's (cute ones and I wanted to buy them all) and adult sections. They had a few good games, fun decks of cards, and excellent puzzles. They're we're art supplies and journals, but it was all good quality. Prices were good. They knew their audience and executed it perfectly. They have a great community bulletin board with lots of current postings. We've been to a lot of small bookshops around the world and this one is one of my favorites now.

Special Family run Bookstore right on Mirror Lake & Main st. Best of both worlds.. You can go to the back of the bookstore and see a view of the lake. Friendly staff, you'll find yourself circling around to see some cool things for everyone. If your looking for a the genre of the Adirondack, don't miss.

This bookstore is wonderful. My son’s school took a trip to Lake Placid for a few days, and the owner was so pleased with how excited the kids were about the books that they were gifted several for the classroom. Needless to say, this was a must visit place when we were staying in the area last week. The store is adorable, they have such a well curated selection. You can feel the absolute love of books and learning in this store. We made many purchases and will always be visitors. Fantastic place!

Classic independent bookstore and we need a bunch more of them. The shop is quite large despite being only as wide as the storefont, packed with shelves of new books, paper, greeting cards, pens and more. A pleasant browse, and some interesting titles for sure! And they are dog friendly with dog cookies at the counter.

Loved this cute Lake Placid spot! In the heart of downtown, it was very walkable from the shuttle and right next to a bunch of other spots for a good shopping day. They had a lovely selection of EVERYTHING! I was glad to see it wasn't just the popular and romance faves taking over the store. Had a great selection of genres, a kids section, gifts for bookworms and non-bookworms, greeting cards, office supplies, and even an art supply section. Inspiration around every corner! They also had a lovely special for Valentine's Day, a FREE blind date with a book with purchase. The staff were kind and speedy. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
