White Birch Books has been serving the Mt. Washington Valley since 1992! The goals have been the same from the day the doors opened: to promote and support a community of readers for locals and visitors alike. Our small but dedicated staff works hard every day to make this happen and we appreciate all the support. Running a bookstore is a labor of love and it would not be worth it without our readers, authors, customers and patrons.

Seems like it has the potential to be a cool space, but staff just isn't friendly. Walked past 3 or 4 different people who I assume are workers and not a single one said hello or greeted me. All were just hanging out at the cash register, talking amongst themselves. Considered a couple purchases, but walked out with nothing, as I'm not really looking to pay wages for 4 people just hanging out.

White Birch Books in North Conway, New Hampshire, is a cozy independent bookstore that feels like home from the moment you walk in. The bright, welcoming windows invite you inside, where shelves are filled with staff picks, regional authors, and carefully chosen titles for every kind of reader.

This is a very charming and cozy bookstore with a fantastic selection of books for all ages and interests. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to browse and discover something new. The staff were friendly, approachable, and offered helpful recommendations when I needed assistance picking out a book. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good local bookstore experience.

Fantastic little book store. There are sections specifically for New England Authors, as well as books from just New Hampshire and Maine, which is great. The children's section is upstairs, and there are comfy couches for the children to sit and read. There are also some gift items and postcards available here.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their books. If they don't have it, they can order it for you. The staff give recommendations on the "favorite picks" books they've read. The bookstore is clean and offer comfortable chairs if you'd like to sit and read.
