What an absolutely lovely indie bookstore! Nicely curated selection of new books and a good amount of used books, too. Obviously this space was a bank at one point - the children's section is in the old safe! They also have some games, puzzles, and other book themed items. Staff was friendly and helpful and there were no weird smells as mentioned by another reviewer. Stop in, buy a book (or 11 like we did, lol) and support this wonderful small business.!

Nothing better than finding a bookstore tucked away in a charming small town. I would much rather purchase from a small business like this, than a franchise. Friendly staff, clean, has that amazing bookstore smell (the smell of happiness and nostalgia), with a surprisingly good selection for a smaller shop. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Awesome Local Bookstore with Tons of Charm! This bookstore has such a great selection, especially for a smaller, locally owned shop. It’s in an old bank, and the best part is the kids’ section—it’s set up in the old vault and makes the cutest little nook with lots of great books for kids! If you’re into history, they’ve got a lot of local history books and even books by local authors. They also have a membership program if you’re a regular. The staff are super helpful—if they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’ll order it for you so you can shop local instead of going to Amazon or B&N. Definitely check this place out and make it your new favorite bookstore!

I was excited to see an independent book store opening in Carlton, and bought some books there around Christmas time. It’s a cute place, but it had an overpowering perfume/fragrance/Glade plug-in smell that made me feel sick when I was in the store. My hair reeked after I left. Book stores should smell like books, not bad perfume. Please, please, please get rid of whatever you’re using that’s causing the strong perfume smell. I’d love to support this book store, but would not go back unless I knew they got rid of the awful fragrance. Visited again in spring of 2025 and there is still an overpowering bad fragrance smell there, unfortunately.

Very quaint! They have a WONDERFUL selection of books, especially trending popular books. I walked in and found several books that I struggled to find even at the biggest chain stores (B&N included!). Great owner, great workers, and great atmosphere. Something for everyone! Support local!
