Spinster Books is an eclectic independent bookstore in Ashland, Wisconsin right on Lake Superior. We offer primarily used books, new & used LEGO, toys and some eclectic items. We pride ourselves on an inventory that constantly changes, with something to offer in all genres. We are not your "usual" bookstore - we are fun and snarky,,, a great place for everyone to visit. We go the extra mile for people in our small-town area.

Jill went above and beyond helping me find the perfect gift for my husband. She asked multiple questions to ascertain what I was actually looking for and put in extra time and effort to find the best bargain. When my husband went into the shop to pick up the book, her friendly manner made him feel welcome. Even though he's a Bears fan.

Such a wonderful store! Friendly staff and a great array of books. The owner also gave us great recommendations while staying in town. This is a must visit!

A fun and well run bookstore with a great selection. The employees are knowledgeable and willing to help you find your next adventure or just converse. All the books are in great condition and they have great gifts for the book lover or writer. Definitely worth a stop!

Jill Spinster is always good for a laugh or a good book recommendation. The store has a large variety of books and toys. And if there is a book you can't find she will find it for you. She always offers the best prices. Never super expensive and always a great quality. She don't take books that are smelly or damaged so you know what your buying is in great condition. If you have books you don't want anymore she will look through them and offer you store credit for them. The books she can't use she donates or brings them to goodwill.

What a wonderful establishment. Make sure you check out hours before hand. Only open a select few days. Interesting collections of numerous areas of paperback, hardcover, children’s teens and adult reading. Classics. Get to talk with Jill the owner and she is well versed in numerous areas. Thank you Jill the lady with the Pug.
