Absolutely love the book room. Having an actual bookstore in this little town is a gift. I love being able to stop in, browse used books, as well as order new releases from them instead of Amazon. Being raised in a small business owning family, it’s important to me to shop local whenever possible. Plus it helps that Erica and Holly are genuinely wonderful. I hope this place is around for years and years to come.

The Book Room is one of the best businesses to come to Wilkes in a while! I love stopping in and seeing the new books. (And the occasional redecorating!) The atmosphere is always so welcoming; Holly and Erica (and their mom when she’s babysitting the store) are wonderful to talk with. Some of my favorite things to get are the stickers and the blind dates with a book. I also got the April Mystery Box and had lots of goodies! Everything in their business is well packaged with love, from the blind dates and the boxes to the cozy bookstore itself.

Its refreshing to have a place like this in Wilkes! If you are a person like me, who hasn't had a lot of time to search around for books this is the place to ask. I got some great recommendations til finally heard one book that just sounded fun and unique to me. Will be my go to for books from now on ✨

Really cute store with a little something for everyone! Lots of neat stickers, bookmarks, and gifts for book lovers too. It’s right in the middle of downtown Wilkesboro & parking is convenient. Highly recommend giving them a visit!

The Book Room in Wilkesboro is a charming, pint-sized treasure tucked into what looks like a historic tiny home--possibly older than the Wilkes Heritage Museum itself--and it radiates warmth and whimsy from the moment you step up to the porch. Inside, the space is packed with personality: shelves of new and used books mingle with handmade jewelry, stickers, stationery, teas and thoughtful gifts. It's the kind of place where you can browse for a cozy mystery, pick up a blind-date-with-a-book bundle, or find a locally made trinket that feels just right. The owners - sisters with deep Wilkesboro roots - have curated the shop with care, creating a welcoming nook that feels more like a community living room than a retail space. Whether you're hunting for a literary escape or just want a sticker that makes you smile, there's surely something here that fits your budget and your mood. It's a delightful stop that adds depth and charm to downtown Wilkesboro's growing cultural scene.
