The Lakewood Bookstore

I just happened to come across this adorable book shop on Instagram recently and decided I needed to spend more money on books ;) It’s such a cute little store with a good selection of books. They have an entire section upstairs of romance books, paranormal, fantasy, etc. There’s also a cute couch with a table that has a puzzle that you can sit down and relax with. They also have a gaming room upstairs. I love the feel of the shop - cozy, inviting, and charming. The shop keeper when I came in was also very kind and welcoming. This is a perfect little book shop!

Screw the Lakewood Barnes & Noble and get your butt over to The Lakewood Bookstore!! I’ve only been there twice (will be going tomorrow though!) but I know I’ll be coming back often. They have a perfect blend of a little bit of everything, from new and used books to cute merch and other fun tchotchkes. I’m so fortunate to have found them through the South Sound Book Crawl, and I hope they pop up on the list of bookstores again this year! The staff are also incredibly kind and have great book reccs, which is dangerous because I can talk about books all day, much like most readers. I highly recommend checking them out! Even if you don’t find anything, it’s a store that is set up beautifully and made to enjoy the browsing process. It’s also MUCH larger than it looks from the outside, so it’s likely you’ll find something even if you don’t plan to. I know I do!

In a word... magic. Reminds me of some of the cozy little shops I discovered in Edinborough. You feel welcome from the minute you enter. The displays are beautiful, with a really nice book selection. Love the gathering space upstairs.

Shannon was very friendly and helpful. She is passionate about the local area and about books! There is a new and used books area, both with great prices. Cute Christmas decorations and the upstairs game and puzzle area is great for kids and the whole family. They have a 5% military discount. 10/10 recommend supporting this small business!
