The Little Bookworm is a children's bookstore located in the New River Valley of Southwest Virginia. We primarily sell new children's books but also carry a sampling of educational games, interesting stickers, and locally made items. The Little Bookworm encourages reading, creativity, and play. It features reading nooks and play spaces, including a handmade train table, chalk wall, and magnet wall. This store is more than just a shopping experience. It's a destination - a cozy activity for a rainy day, a place to hear stories and meet friends, a community that inspires kids to become bookworms.

We attended a child's birthday party here and it was truly unique & awesome! The kids loved the sensory room, toy piano, car rug, train table & of course... the story telling. The Bookworm had a kitchen for food & drink & an separate room for a craft (or other activities).. Kids & adults alike enjoyed exploring the books & space! Super friendly & helpful staff too!

The Little Bookworm is the cutest store that I have now had the pleasure of twice buying from. On my latest visit, the owner Cathy was helpful as usual and offered me a complementary hot beverage. The store has a great selection for newborns to pre-teens—and the nostalgic adult too. When I was ready to check out, Cathy even took the time to beautifully wrap my books (see picture). Next time you're in the market for a children's book, close your Amazon tab, and check out the Little Bookworm.

I came in just to look around with my boyfriend. The owner greeted us and offered a complimentary hot beverage. She then showed us around the store. It is a wonderful store with play areas for the kids to enjoy! There’s also a mini game of finding a stuff animal worm (Beatrice) in the store and when the kids find Beatrice, they get a free sticker! I wish this was around when I was a kid! There’s also some books that are for an older audience, such as Percy Jackson and Hunger Games! I definitely will be back to buy the Hunger Game series here rather than Barnes and Noble.

This is the cutest place and so much more than a bookstore. My kids enjoyed finding the store stuffy bookworm hidden amongst the books, and we were treated to warm beverages and treats upon entering. We came in for a book for the kids, didn't want to leave, but eventually left with a delightful experience that brightened our day. We need more places like this that take such care in every detail.

The store is both gorgeous and cozy. If you appreciate books and have children who also appreciate books you will fall in love. It's clear the store owner "gets" both and the results are a very bright and welcoming place for kids if all ages and the sensory room is such a bonus when you have children who are overwhelmed or simply impatient while siblings pick out their selection. The store is so intentionally put together with love and it shines through. We cannot wait to return and support this local gem
